SavorNW Announces Top Northwest Wines for 2023

Washington's Alexandria Nicole Cellars and Palencia Wine Company; Oregon's King Estate Winery; and British Columbia's Chaberton Estate Winery are among the top award winners.
Well over 500 Northwest wines claimed awards at the 2023 Savor Northwest Wine Awards competition conducted in early March in Cannon Beach, Oregon. Five top awards went to Prosser, Washington's Alexandria Nicole Cellars including the SavorNW Wine of the Year for their 2022 a squared Sauvignon Blanc. Alexandria Nicole also collected a Best of Class award for their 2022 Shepherds Mark white blend; Double Gold Medals were awarded for their 2022 Crawford Viognier, 2022 a squared Rose and 2022 Albarino.
Palencia Wine Company was the competition's most awarded winery, claiming seven Gold Medals including two Best of Class awards for their 2020 El Vinador Petit Verdot and 2022 El Vinador Albarino. Woodinville, Washington's Brian Carter Cellars won six Gold Medals including a Double Gold for their Byzance Rhone-style red blend.
Langley, British Columbia's Chaberton Estate Winery captured six Gold Medals that included two best of Best of Class awards for their 2022 Pinot Gris and Estate Grown Siegerrebe. Their awards also included Double Gold Medals for their 2019 Cabernet Franc, 2021 Gewurztraminer and 2021 Madeleine Sylvaner.
King Estate Winery claimed five Gold Medals including Best of Class awards for their 2018 Brut Cuvee sparkling wine and their 2021 Rose of Pinot Noir; the second year in a row that their Rose of Pinot Noir has claimed Savor Northwest's Rose Wine of the Year.
