Harbinger Winery 2013 Syrah

This Syrah is Northern Rhone in style showing a medium body with a nice balance of bright fruit with earthy and savory notes. The nose of dark fruit alludes to blackberry pie with a dusting of sweet baking spices along with complex savory notes including black peppercorn, smoky bacon fat, sweet tobacco, vanilla and dried herbs. On the palate, it shows a bright streak of red plum and cherry that lingers with beautifully balanced acidity before revealing spicy notes of clove and a graphite minerality on the finish. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
