Eleven Winery 2019 Mourvedre "The Prodigy"

Typically a full-bodied blending grape, this Mourvedre shows restraint in color and body, appearing a pale purple. An early harvest resulted in a surprising acidic balance on the fruit alluding to Boysenberry and a dusting of baking spices that are met by sleek tannins carrying earthy notes of cocoa with plum skin acidity hanging on through the finish. Complex aromas include notes of grilled plum, black peppercorn, lavender, sweet tobacco and hints of smoked meat.
