Rocky Pond Winery 2016 La Domestique

This Right Bank Bordeaux style red blend includes 70% Merlot, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon and 15% Malbec. On the nose, ripe dark fruit shines with notes of black plum and blueberries, black peppercorn, bell pepper, pipe tobacco, cedar and a touch of baking spice. On the palate, it leads with plum sauce and black cherry nicely balanced by a streak of graphite minerality and earthy notes of cocoa and violet. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
