This medium bodied Italian red varietal from Walla Walla Valley does homage to the food friendly wines of Piedmont, mixing bright fruit with savory, spicy and rustic notes. Engaging aromatics allude to dried strawberry, herbes de Provence, sweet tobacco and a hint of lavender. On the palate, it offers flavors of sweet-tart black cherry with dried herbs, peppery spice and just enough tar to keep it rustic. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
