Elevation Cellars 2012 Monolith Red Blend

This blend of 64% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Malbec, 9% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot and 3% Malbec is earthy and herbaceous, boldly balancing its dark fruit flavors. A complex nose offers dark jammy fruit mixing with aromas of cedar, pipe tobacco, dried herbs and black peppercorn. On the palate, flavors of black cherry and blueberry are balanced with prominent earthy notes of graphite, violet, dark chocolate and bay leaf. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
