About the Annual SavorNW Wine Awards Competition

Our wine competition held annually in March showcases the best of Northwest wines and has been one of the largest wine awards programs in the Pacific Northwest for more than 15 years. Your participation in the SavorNW wine competition offers valuable opportunities for you to market your award winning wines.

All award-winning wines will be listed on the SavorNW website with a link to your winery's website. Each Gold Medal winning wine is awarded a score of 90 points or higher as determined by the judges and will be showcased with a published review and a link to your website on SavorNW.com. Each Gold Medal review is also shared on the SavorNW Facebook page, tagging your winery's Facebook page.

All wines are evaluated in a blind judging by three person panels including some of the top wine professionals in the Northwest including wine writers, buyers and experts. Winning entries are announced by the end of March.

How to Enter the SavorNW Wine Awards Competition

The competition opens for entries in October with an entry deadline of mid-February. A link to downloadable entry forms can be found on this page. Your entry form and three bottles of each wine entered (or four bottles of .375ml or .500ml) can be shipped directly to us; and payment for your entries can be made online with a credit card or paid by check included with your submission. We also offer several consolidation points at various wine country locations where you can drop off your wines and we will pick them up prior to published deadlines.

If you would like to be notified each year when we start accepting entries, please sign up for our email list here.

Who Can Enter the SavorNW Wine Awards Competition

The SavorNW wine competition is open to all types of wines made or produced in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska and British Columbia. A producer can enter as many wines as desired, as long as each wine entered is currently available for retail sale or scheduled for release in commercial quantities in the following year. All wines must be vinified and bottled by a licensed and bonded winery and must be produced from 100 percent fruit grown within Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Alaska or British Columbia. Wines must be entered into appropriate categories as defined by state/provincial standards for varietal labeling.

Entry Fees

The entry fee is $75 (USD) per wine and may be paid online with PayPal via our website or by check made payable to Explorer Media Group. All payments must be made in US dollars.

Submission Details

For each wine entered, submit three (3) 750ml bottles OR four (4) bottles of dessert wines bottled in 375ml or 500ml bottles with your completed entry form(s) and a check or copy of your online payment receipt. Include entry forms in each box shipped if sending multiple boxes. If sending multiple boxes, please mark with "Box 1 of 2" etc. Do not mail checks separately. Please double check that your three bottles submitted for each entry are the same vintage matching your entry form.
