This Merlot from Wenatchee, Washington's Stemilt Creek Winery offers prominent aromas of cedar, Allspice, sweet tobacco and Bay leaf that wrap around notes of blackberry jam. On the palate, flavors of cherry and red plum are balanced by notes of cola and peppery spice before a finish hinting at dried herbs. It's a steal at $17. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
