Brian Carter Cellars 2016 Byzance
Published: October 15, 2021
Woodinville Washington's Brian Carter Cellars takes you to Southern Rhone with this red wine blend that includes 58% Grenache, 19% Syrah, 16% Mourvedre and smaller portions of Counoise and Cinsault. On the nose, aromas of dried black fruit mixes with prominent spicy notes of black peppercorn and baking spices with hints of fragrant dried herbs. On the palate, it's dark, rich and spicy with flavors of blueberry sauce with delightful notes of cinnamon and chocolate before a finish hinting at earthy notes of clay pot with a dash of orange zest.
