Comforts of Whidbey 2021 Madeleine Angevine

Comforts of Whidbey 2021 Madeleine Angevine

Madeleine Angevine is an early ripening grape suited to cool climates and it has found a home in western Washington winemaking, creating an aromatic white wine with crisp acidity making it a good pairing for mild white seafoods. This one, grown on Whidbey Island, opens with bracing acidity hinting at grapefruit, lime and green apple that lingers nicely before notes on the tart side of stone fruit emerge on the mid-palate, then a finish showing a minerally salinity. On the nose, tropical fruit aromas alluding to guava mixes with light florals, hints of peach, orange zest and sweet herbal notes of tarragon.
