Comforts of Whidbey 2021 Sweet Maddy
Published: November 16, 2023
This Puget Sound grown aromatic white wine is 100% Madeleine Angevine, an early ripening varietal native to Loire, France and popular in Germany and increasingly the Northwest Coast. Don't be fooled by the name, this wine is just off-dry with flavors of pink grapefruit and a splash of Mandarin orange that find a nice balance upfront, gaining intensity on the mid-palate and finishing with slightly oily notes of apricot. On the nose, aromas of white peach mix and a hint of Honeydew melon show through prominent notes of minerality and a whiff of floral.
