Hard Row To Hoe Vineyards 2014 Primitivo
Published: October 23, 2017
Give this wine some time and it will give back. It's a fruit forward offering, but shows some restraint, complexity and solid structure. On the nose, aromas of dark berry crumble and baking spices are upfront, before fading to offer notes of new leather and hibiscus, but you'll also find hints of caramel, smoke and dark chocolate. On the palate, the wine opens boldly with juicy blueberry that fades to reveal mineral and earthy notes of crushed gravel and brambles before a finessed acid finish showing peach tart and spiced orange peel. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
