Milbrandt Vineyards 2015 Traditions Sweet Katherine Riesling

This wine drinks with a much crisper balance than the 4.2% residual sugar would indicate, achieving a remarkable balance between sweetness and acidity. On the nose are varietally classic oily and petrol notes mixing with aromas of apricot, tropical fruits, orange blossom and fresh ginger. On the palate, it's nicely balanced with tart apricot, white peach and Asian pear with a citrus zest streak that persists through a lingering finish. This is an easy drinking wine that would be a beautiful and versatile pairing with Asian food, spicy dishes or fruit-based desserts. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
