Puffin Wines Scarlet Red Wine (non-vintage)

This red wine blend is a project between Cannon Beach, Oregon's Puffin Wines and winemaker John Derthick of Lujon Wine Cellars. Blending 49% Syrah, 44% Merlot and 7% Malbec from Columbia Valley, the wine offers rich aromas of blackberry pie, cedar, black peppercorn, cigar box and a dusting of Allspice. On the palate, it delivers juicy flavors of raspberry and black cherry balanced with plum skin acidity and a dry finish showing hints of clay pot minerality. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
