Reustle Prayer Rock 2018 Gruner Veltliner Green Lizard
Published: May 24, 2021
Winemaker Stephen Reustle may just be a little obsessed about Austria's popular white wine grape and this is his version of a Smaragd designation wine that is named for an emerald-colored lizard that suns itself on the stone terraces along the Danube. This wine displays a beautiful balance of acidity and minerality, with notes of Meyer lemon and mango before a lingering finish showing saline and a hint of orange oil. On the nose, light aromas of apple mix with notes of snap pea, white pepper and a hint of beeswax.
