Reustle Prayer Rock Vineyards 2019 Gruner Veltliner Green Lizard
Published: July 10, 2021
The Green Lizard designation on this Gruner Veltliner indicates the wine is made in the style of Austria's Smaragd designated Gruners, a term not allowed in the US. The wines are the most age worthy and prized wines of the varietal with a minimum alcohol of 12.5% and this one from Roseburg Oregon's Reustle Prayer Rock Vineyards comes in at 13.8. On the nose, subtle aromas of apple blend with notes of white pepper and fresh herbal-green vegetable nuances. It leads on the palate with bright notes of mango, a drop of citrus oil and a prominent minerality that lingers through the finish with another dash of white pepper.
