StoneRiver Winery 2016 Amethyst Blend

This red wine blend includes 33% Syrah, 33% Petite Sirah and 34% Pinot Noir from Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley. On the nose, ripe dark fruit mixes with notes of smoky bacon fat, black peppercorn and clove spice. On the palate, lively flavors of blueberry and black cherry are balanced by notes of cocoa and a graphite minerality with pleasant hints of cola and spice emerging on a lingering finish. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
