Whidbey Island Winery 2014 Cabernet Franc

This is a light bodied Cabernet Franc that defies its light appearance with bold aromas and complex flavors. The expressive nose reads red berry jam with prominent notes of sweet tobacco and fresh ground coffee, along with licorice and subtle notes of dried sage. Flavors of sweet dried cherry and chocolate are balanced with cinnamon-clove spices and a touch of vanilla. Serve this with roasted pork loin, seared duck breast, lamb or other grilled red meats.
