William Grassie Wine Estates 2013 Liberation Syrah

This is a savory style Syrah with generous dark fruit nicely balanced by earthy flavors, spice and a solid structure. You'll pick up aromas of blackberry pie mixed with black peppercorn, cigar box and notes of milk chocolate, smoke and a touch of clove. On the palate, flavors of blueberry are balanced by brambly notes, a graphite minerality and a structured finish that reveals notes of plum skin and some peppery spice. - Reviewed by Gary Hayes
